handmade bicycle frame

Building this bicycle frame was difficult yet rewarding. It was constructed by way of a class at the University of Iowa co-taught by professor Steve McGuire and longtime, local frame builder Tom Teesdale. The design was inspired by the Dutch outfit Workcycles. Building and assembling the bike served as a great opportunity to learn skills such as Tig welding and fillet brazing as well as hone  bicycle maintenance skills. There is still much remaining before the bike is complete but it rides great and it won’t be long until it is given a powder coat of periwinkle paint…
